The Nauiyu OpShop, hosted by the Merrepen Arts Centre, is located in the heart of the beautiful Nauiyu (Daly River) community. Situated 223 km south of Darwin in the stunning Douglas Daly Region of the Northern Territory, Nauiyu is a remote area known for its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and abundant wildlife. From barramundi fishing to thrilling crocodile adventures, the Daly River offers a natural playground that draws visitors and locals alike.

Merrepen Arts Centre is proud to be an Indigenous Corporation with a rich history of creating stunning fabrics and paintings, reflecting the deep cultural connection to the land and community. Now, we are taking our commitment to the community one step further by opening the Merrepen Arts Centre OpShop!

The OpShop aims to support our community by providing access to affordable essentials, such as clothing and household items, which are challenging to obtain in remote areas. We believe that everyone deserves access to these necessities, and we’re here to make it happen.

The Nauiyu OpShop relies on your generous donations to keep its shelves stocked and ready to serve the community. If you have any gently used clothing, household items, or other essentials, we welcome your support.

Clothing we need:

• Summer clothing for men – T-shirts, long shorts
• Summer clothing for women – T-shirts, mid-long skirts, singlets, leggings, longer-length shorts, board shorts (no short shorts, please), practical day dresses (no evening wear, lace, tight dresses)
• Summer clothing for children and babies: onesies, dresses, sorts, shirts
• Shoes – thongs, sandals, closed-in runners, work boots.
• Workwear – Jeans and pants, Hi-vis work shirts, socks.

At home, we need:

• Towels: bath and beach towels
• Sheets: flat/fitted, all sizes, colours or patterns, preferably natural fibres
• Pillows and pillowcases
• Curtains
• Light Blankets
